Existing turf and 75–100mm of topsoil are excavated and removed from site, leaving a clean, compactable base for the sub-base layer.
Compacted MOT Type 1 limestone sub-base is installed and a layer of sharp sand is screeded perfectly flat. A weed suppression membrane is laid over the surface.
The artificial grass is rolled out, carefully cut to shape and all joins are glued with specialist adhesive tape — invisible when complete. Edges are fixed to timber or aluminium restraints.
The pile is brushed upright with a stiff broom or power brush, sand infill is applied where specified and the surface is inspected. All waste is removed and aftercare guidance provided.
